See Helsinki on your layover. Private car, back to HEL with time to spare.

Tell us your landing time and connecting flight — we build a private Helsinki itinerary timed so you are always back at HEL with room to spare.

Finland is in the Schengen Area, so visa-free travellers and holders of a valid Schengen visa can leave Helsinki-Vantaa (HEL) freely during a layover without applying for any additional permit. Travellers who would require a Finnish or Schengen visa and do not hold one must remain airside. Your coordinator confirms your eligibility before any booking is confirmed. PROVISIONAL — confirm current Finnish border rules and your nationality requirements.

Finnair has deliberately marketed Helsinki-Vantaa as the fastest East–West connecting hub in Europe, which means tens of thousands of passengers each year sit in HEL with 4–8 hours to fill. That is enough time for the city centre. Helsinki is compact by design: Senate Square, the Rock Church, the waterfront market, and the Design District all lie within a few kilometres of each other, and HEL is a straight 30-minute drive from any of them. A private driver-guide turns the transfer into the trip.

FAQ

Can I leave Helsinki airport (HEL) during my layover?

Most travellers can: Finland is in the Schengen Area, so visa-free and Schengen-visa holders walk straight through passport control. If your nationality requires a Finnish or Schengen visa and you do not hold one, you must remain airside — your coordinator checks your case before booking.

How long a layover do I need to see Helsinki?

HEL is about 30 minutes from the city centre. A 5-hour layover already gives useful time once arrival processing and the 2-hour departure buffer are factored in. Longer windows (7 h+) allow Suomenlinna island or a sauna stop.

What is included?

A private vehicle with a local driver-guide for your whole layover window, door-to-door between HEL and each stop, and a personalised itinerary timed around your connecting flight.
